From a blogging perspective “Netroots: What’s Next?” was of the greatest relevance to what we do here in the blogosphere. Baratunde Thurston, writes for Jack and Jill Politics which – as Thurston puts it — “call out bullshit when we see it”.And call it out they do. Substitute political for sports media, and it sounds like SOMM’s very own mission statement! With the mainstream media’s bullshit-o-meter reaching all-time high decibels this election cycle, be sure to put JJP in your daily web-check rotation. Gina Cooper represented Netroots Nation, an annual convention that organizes politically-motivated bloggers that use the Internet as primary tools for changing the status quo. Interested participants can still register for their upcoming conference on July 17-20 in Austin Texas. The panel also included Duncan Blackfrom Eschaton, Robin Marty from Center for Independent Media, and received excellent moderating performance by Cenk Uygur of The Young Turks.
